Following the fantastic news yesterday that the UK is joining the rest of Europe in putting Ibiza on the Green List. It’s time to get planning.
There are so many decisions to make when planning a holiday. And one of the big ones is where to stay! With this in mind we have put together a shortlist of reasons why we think the Bay of San Antonio is a great place to stay… It is the perfect place to base yourselves. Close to so many of the wonderful hotels, restaurants, bars, pools, the sunset and some of the island’s best beaches Ibiza has to offer.
1. The Amare Hotel
For a first class experience, the Amare Hotel in San Antonio Bay is the place to stay. Stylish rooms, fantastic facilities and beautifully situated. With views of San Antonio & the magical Ibiza Sunset. This adults only hotel offers a first class experience.
And being just a stones throw from Relish, you can enjoy a meal and indulge in some house cocktails without having to drive home.
You can also enjoy the amazing Ibiza Sunset from their rooftop bar Belle Vue.
2. The Beach Star
This fun and super instagrammable boutique hotel is really popular with both tourists and locals. Known for its fun afternoons around the pool, The Beach Star should be on your Ibiza Bucket List.
The kitchens start serving breakfast from 9am. The pool then opens at 10am, with resident DJ’s Antton and Doctor Feelgood taking to the decks from 1pm through to 6pm.
And the bonus is, even if you aren’t staying at the hotel; you can enjoy an afternoon of drinks and good music. It is recommended to book a poolside bed, but not essential. info@thebeachstaribiza.com
3. Idyllic West Coast Beaches
The West Coast boasts some of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
Cala Bassa
This fashionable, sheltered beach is lined with Sabina trees. It has beautiful clear water, perfect for swimming for all ages. It is accessible by car, bus and water taxi (from San Antonio).
Cala Conta
Just around the corner from Cala Bassa you will find the slightly more earthy beaches of Cala Comte. There are several small beaches here to explore, all with breathtaking turquoise water. You have to see it to believe it. There are several restaurants to choose from too. If you come late in the afternoon it is an amazing spot to enjoy the famous Ibiza Sunset.
It is recommended to get here early in high season as it can be extremely busy. It is accessible via car, bus or water taxi (from San Antonio).
Cala Tarida
One of the island’s smaller resorts, Cala Tarida is well worth a visit. It is the longest sandy beach on the west coast of the island, and is lined with hotels and a selection of great restaurants. Again the water here is magnificently blue, and the conditions are perfect for swimming. With a rocky formation reaching out into the sea in the middle of the beach, it is also a great spot for snorkelling. It is accessible via car, bus or water taxi from San Antonio.
4. Float Your Boat – Beach Hop
Following nicely on from our Beach Guide. You can also enjoy a day at sea being guided around some of the island’s most amazing beaches by the Float Your Boat team.
Their excursions take you on a trip around the stunning West Coast of the island taking in some of the finest water and beaches on the island. The boat is fully equipped with toys such as body boards, snorkels and paddle boards. With fresh fruit and drinks included, this relaxing day is the perfect no stress way to take in some of the island’s most breathtaking scenery. And you might even see some dolphins.
